This track was written over one sad and lonely night when I recalled every bad thing that ever happened to me. The feeling was so strong that I went through a bunch of stages in letting it go. All of which are documented in the lyrics of 'Smells Like Rain', open my mind, open my mouth to drain, pick up a pen, smile to feign, and the like.
